Canyon Creek Church Redesign · The new site design

Thu, January 22, 2009 · 09:26 PM

I just finished a meeting with 3 of the 4 members from the Canyon Creek Church web team, and I am stoked for the launch of the church’s new site. Tanya, the designer, has been hard at work with the new look. It is gonna be amazing. Growing up in the church, I’ve seen a lot of horrible church web sites, and I am proud to say that all the hard work Tanya has put in is paying off.

As she finishes the design, Rob, our front-end developer, will be tackle the the HTML and CSS. I’m a little envious that he gets to do it and not me, but Rob is a fantastic team member to work with, and his results speak for themselves. I am, however, going to twist his arm to use jQuery, so that I can tackle most of that coding. Once the PSD templates hit Rob’s hand, the ball will be rolling to get this site launched.

While the designing gets closer to completion, I will be working hand-in-hand with the greatest Development Pastor in the world, Christian Lindbeck. We will be developing the content for the entire site. Christian is just straight one of the coolest (and probably most intelligent) people I have ever met, so I am excited to see what his mind comes up with. Meanwhile, I will be working to customize setup my first large-scale site on ExpressionEngine, the highly adaptable CMS. I’ve done work on my site, but it is not nearly as large as this will be. I’m excited, the team’s excited, and the work looks amazing, so keep your eye out for more updates coming in a week or two.
